They Finally Admit It

I didn’t think the MSM would ever run a story about how much the upcoming inauguration is costing the taxpayers in this shaky economy. But they did.

The price tag for President-elect Barack Obama’s inauguration gala is expected to break records, with some estimates reaching as high as $150 million.

If this were Bush spending $150 million on an inauguration in a time of war with the stock market down, unemployment up, and and a recession underway, the MSM would be putting out stories daily, maybe even hourly, about what a waste of money it was, and wondering how many poor people could have been fed with that $150 million.

But instead, we get concerts by U2, Springsteen, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Sheryl Crow, etc. This sentence seems to sum it up:

Democrats who called on President George W. Bush to be frugal four years ago are issuing no such demands now that an inaugural weekend of rock concerts and star-studded parties has begun.

Oh, the hypocrisy.

Speaking Of Obama Voters

Here are some out for a night on the town in Hollywood.

It’s probably not constitutional, but we seriously need some sort of competency test before we allow people like this to vote. Maybe we need an amendment.

How Obama Got Elected

Wow, this pretty much speaks for itself:

A glaringly obvious example of the failure of the mainstream media to do even the slightest vetting of Obama. And they had two years to do it. Just to show those people were not just a few hand-picked seriously under-informed voters, they cite a Zogby poll of Obama voters that pretty much shows the same results:

512 Obama Voters 11/13/08-11/15/08 MOE +/- 4.4 points

97.1% High School Graduate or higher, 55% College Graduates

Results to 12 simple Multiple Choice Questions

57.4% could NOT correctly say which party controls congress (50/50 shot just by guessing)

81.8% could NOT correctly say Joe Biden quit a previous campaign because of plagiarism (25% chance by guessing)

82.6% could NOT correctly say that Barack Obama won his first election by getting opponents kicked off the ballot (25% chance by guessing)

88.4% could NOT correctly say that Obama said his policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry and make energy rates skyrocket (25% chance by guessing)

56.1% could NOT correctly say Obama started his political career at the home of two former members of the Weather Underground (25% chance by guessing).

And yet…..

Only 13.7% failed to identify Sarah Palin as the person on which their party spent $150,000 in clothes

Only 6.2% failed to identify Palin as the one with a pregnant teenage daughter

And 86.9 % thought that Palin said that she could see Russia from her "house," even though that was Tina Fey who said that!!

Only 2.4% got at least 11 correct.

Only .5% got all of them correct. (And we "gave" one answer that was technically not Palin, but actually Tina Fey)

I guess Neal Boortz is right. Stupid people vote Democrat.

Biden Chastised By His Hometown Bishop

It must be tough to be a pro-abortion Catholic Democrat these days.

Rev. Joseph F. Martino, bishop of the diocese of Scranton, Pa., the city lifelong Catholic Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.) claims as his hometown and the place that inspired his values, has condemned the vice president-elect for his pro-abortion position.

It’s tough in South Carolina too. Ease off on the communion wafers there, Obama voters. If you’re going to profess to be a practicing Catholic to win their votes, and your platform is pro-abortion, well, you might run into a little resistance from the Church.

More Reasons To Like Hitchens

Proof that not everyone on that side of the pond is drinking the Obama Kool-Aid. Here’s a few paragraphs from his latest column:

Anyone would think we had just elected a hip, skinny and youthful replacement for God, with a plan to modernise Heaven and Hell – or that at the very least John Lennon had come back from the dead.

The swooning frenzy over the choice of Barack Obama as President of the United States must be one of the most absurd waves of self-deception and swirling fantasy ever to sweep through an advanced civilisation. At least Mandela-worship – its nearest equivalent – is focused on a man who actually did something.

I really don’t see how the Obama devotees can ever in future mock the Moonies, the Scientologists or people who claim to have been abducted in flying saucers. This is a cult like the one which grew up around Princess Diana, bereft of reason and hostile to facts.

He goes on to mourn the coming mediocrity of America, and expects us to be be in the same boat England is in the not too distant future. Watch the tax rates, indeed.

I’m Really Trying…

Not to have premature ODS, but crap like this scares the bejezus out of me.

Seriously, a "Civilian National Security Force" as strong as our military? Do they get tanks? Fighter jets? Nukes?

Obama, Chicago "Thug"

So says Bill Clinton.

Bill Clinton believes the Democratic nominee, far from practicing a unifying, transformational brand of politics, has the political instincts of “a Chicago thug,” one longtime associate said. Clinton has told people that Obama allowed surrogates to try to suppress Hispanic turnout in the Nevada caucuses, and played “the race card” in reverse against the Clintons in South Carolina and other states.

Let the unity begin.

Obama Win Causes Obsessive Supporters To Realize How Empty Their Lives Are

Pure Genius.

Post-Racial? Hardly

It’s only been two days since the election and things are already getting ugly. Michelle Malkin has a post up detailing the "My President Is Black" phenomenon. Also links to stories like this one:

My senior at an upscale Cobb County Georgia (Newt’s old district) high school came home today in tears. Every black student at this school, where race isn’t usually an indicator of whether or not the teens are friends…they all get along and are for the most part, almost all college bound… was wearing their Obama t-shirts today. Many of them said, “My president is BLACK.” Many had Obama’s head printed on cardboard and waved them through the halls taunting the white kids with, “McCain sucks” and “F– McCain.”

This is what we have to look forward to for the next four years? That’s not the change Obama promised.
