My Next Job

So, the company is sending me to Chicago next week for a job. OK, that’s fine. However, the fact that they are flying me up there on the fifth anniversary of 9/11 does have me a little bit spooked.

But I’m sure I’ll be fine. If any terrorists have designs on the plane I’m occupying, I’ve got two words for them:

Hundreds Of WMDs Found In Iraq

So a new report out says that over 500 chemical weapons, mainly mustard and sarin gas, have been found since 2003. But wait, Saddam said that he had gotten rid of all of them, how could that be?

Still no mention of the report on CNN’s front page, and a search for “WMD” turns up nothing since 6/2. I’m shocked, shocked I tell you!

UPDATE: Hmmm… No mention on ABC, CBS, MSNBC… But plenty of coverage on the Marines facing charges. Odd how liberals are soft on crime (see Willie Horton) until a serviceman is accused of something. Then, of course, as Jack Murtha would tell you, they’re just plain guilty.

UPDATE: HotAir has some video from last night Hannity and Colmes about the topic where Allen, predictably, attempts to downplay the significance.

Much ado is being made about hitting the 2,500 dead US soldiers in Iraq mark. While each and everyone is a sad loss, for a three-year period during a war, that number is extrememly low.

Minutemen Score Their First Arrests

Eighteen arrests already, and most of the month to go.

Volunteers for an effort to patrol the Mexican border reported their first sighting of suspected illegal immigrants, resulting in 18 arrests, authorities said Sunday.

Participants in the Minuteman Project saw the migrants Saturday near Naco as the volunteers were surveying the border to familiarize themselves with the area. When agents arrived, they apprehended 18 people, Border Patrol spokesman Andy Adame said.


“You observe them, report them and get out of the way,” said Mike McGarry, a spokesman for the project, which begins today and is to continue for a month.


The volunteers reported another illegal immigrant after he wandered onto the campus of a Bible college near the community of Palominas, where about 100 Minuteman participants were staying.


The man walked in and said he needed food and water. Volunteers helped him and notified federal agents, who picked him up, McGarry said.

Way to go, guys!

I Laughed So Hard I Cried

when I read this:


Iran’s armed forces vowed Thursday they would defend the country’s nuclear ambitions, warning “Great Satan” the United States that it faced certain defeat if it decided to attack.
“Brave Iranians, disregarding the yells of the White House and arrogant media, will not hesitate for a moment in pursuing their objectives in various fields including nuclear energy,” said a statement from the hardline Revolutionary Guards.

“With alertness and iron-like will, (Iran) will inflict serious and repeated defeats on the Great Satan’s camp,” said the statement carried by the student news agency ISNA.


I can see it now. It would be the “Mother Of All Battles”.


I seriously doubt we’ll be invading Iran anytime soon, anyway.


But, from the sound of it, at least this guy finally got a new job.

Minuteman Protest Already Working

More Border Patrol agents will be forthcoming:


WASHINGTON (AP) – The Homeland Security Department will assign more than 500 additional patrol agents to the porous Arizona border, saying they will help keep potential terrorists and illegal immigrants from entering the country, The Associated Press has learned.

The border buildup was to be announced Wednesday – two days before civilian volunteers with the so-called Minuteman Project begin a monthlong Arizona patrol against immigrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico line.

That’s definitely a good start.
