Some State Actually Elected This Guy?

From ABC:

“The attempt to do away with the filibuster is nothing short of clearing the trees for the confirmation of an unacceptable nominee to the Supreme Court,” said Democratic Leader Harry Reid. He accused the president of an attempt to “rewrite the Constitution and reinvent reality” with his demand for a yes-or-no vote on all nominees.

Ok, idiot, show me just where in the Constitution it says that the Senate can filibuster judicial nominees, because I sure as hell can’t find it.

I thought the Democrats were supposed to be pro-minority. If they actually were, wouldn’t you think they’d be jumping at the chance to put Janice Rogers Brown on a federal appeals court? Instead, they’re still trying, years later, to stop her from getting an up or down vote.

Sad.

  • Democrats don’t like minority folks who actually think for themselves. They like the ones they programmed to repeat the propaganda. It’s much easier to keep them down and dependent.

  • What do you expect of slave masters? They’d rather keep conflict, rather than get rid of it.

But the real question is this, "Why are the Republican’s not kicking butt, they do, after all, control the senate, house, and outnumber the dems.

  • Must be the same place in the constitution where says you can have military weapons, ban gay marriages (or get involved with marriage in the first place), censor the internet, establish a theocracy, take away our freedoms and allow churches to campaign for politicians whilst keeping their tax exempt status.

  • Okay..step by step.

The Constitution gives the government the right to raise a militia to defend our country. It’s in the preamble.

Banning Gay Marriage: Nobody is banning gay marriage..Gay people have the same rights that I do, to marry a woman, or a woman does, to marry a man.

The Federal Government is just trying to say that Gay Marriage won’t get special dispensation, nor will it be a minority group, like Race, Creed, or National Origin.

The FCC has, as it’s charter, the right to police the airwaves and make sure smut doesn’t pervert our children. AS for the internet, you can’t censor the internet, as many of the smut sites are out of country.

The First amendment prevents the country from establishing a religious theocracy. But at the same time, it doesn’t say a thing about Christian’s not being allowed to run.

If any of your freedoms have been taken away, I’d like to know what they are: I haven’t noticed that mine have been diminished at all.

Churches don’t politicize. However, a pastor can remind people to vote, and say, "Vote your consciounce." And no, they shouldn’t kick people out just because they vote differently.

  • that colorado liberal

um, janice rogers brown is probably the most catering ‘minority’ judge ever. when you are a black woman and you arent even supported by your state’s chapter of african american lawyers theres a problem…

here, because you seem to be so un-informed on your choice for a judge:

    http://saveourcourts.civilrights.org/nominees/details.cfm?id=16978

and those opposed to her (not all a bunch of liberal groups either):

    http://saveourcourts.civilrights.org/nominees/nominees/brown_opposed.html

so maybee you should look a bit further into your nominee and see why us ‘liberals’ who are all about ‘pro-minority’ (a rather subltly racist remark on your part) dont want her as a judge.
