I slept in somewhat. I got some stuff out of the attic I’ve been meaning to for weeks. I smoked one hell of a good turkey. It’s all in the seasoning, and I only use one. If you’re curious, here’s a hint. It’s dry and it comes in a green container. And it’s not Soylent Green, either.
I also put up my exterior Christmas lights. First one on the block. Hell, first one in the neighborhood. I can see them out the window now.
Speaking of Christmas lights, every year I marvel at their lack of longevity. The very same four strands of functioning icicle lights I put in a box on January 1st of this year are all dead today. Amazing. I think they’re designed to last a month, maybe two at the most. Then there’s a secret pocket of acid in all the bulbs that is released. Yeah, that’s it. The best part of them dying was that Walgreen’s had a sale on them today. Normally, they’re $3.99 a box (the price was printed right on the box). When I went to purchase them today, they were three boxes for $3.99. That’s a deal. Too bad they don’t sell liquor.
